Presentation

The Sparkling Trail: Brnik–Most na Soči was created on the basis of Sparkling Cards project (a detailed presentation of the Sparkling Cards [scientists, writers, painters, sculptors, athletes … ]). The cards were developed within the framework of the PanUp project (Promotion, Animation and Learning Support, 2018–2022), based on the concept by Marko Arnež and Polonca Hafner Ferlan from the School Centre Kranj (ŠC Kranj).

Illustrator Ciril Horjak portrayed 18 well-known personalities from our cultural and historical past. Their images became the characters of kings, queens, jacks and jokers. ŠC Kranj prepared the cards with the aim of constantly reminding players of the restless spirit of Slovenians, as well as their curiosity and perseverance. Be sparkling when trying out old and newly invented card games.

The Sparkling Trail visits all 18 Sparkling Cards along the route from Brnik to Most na Soči.

It is a moderately demanding hiking trail with a total length of 214 kilometres, involving 4,159 metres of ascent and 4,369 metres of descent. The website outlines 9 planned stages.

The average stage is 26 km long and includes 576 metres of ascent and 449 metres of descent, requiring about 7 hours of walking. The longest stage is 30 km, while the shortest is 20 km.
